HSC brings smiles to the faces of ghetto girls as world commemorates International Day of Children

Over 100 girls living the ghettos of Kawempe today received free sanitary reusable pads, thanks to High Sound for Children, a non governmental organization that advocates for the wellbeing of children.

This happened as the world commemorated the International Day of Children under the theme Inclusion for every child

Not even the heavy morning downpour stopped the team from going to bless the girls in a door to door distribution of Malaika pads.

Led by the ED, HSC Osman Patricia, the team gave our pads but also sensitized the girls on how to keep the pads clean for better use.
" It's a good thing that we are giving you these pads, so that you continue to feel special and confident because that is exactly who you are, however you must make sure that you practice good hygiene. Wash the pads with enough water and soap before drying them" she cautioned the girls.

Mama Sarah a mother of 2 teenage girls thanked the organisation for the kind gesture saying reusable pads is the way to go. "This is the best solution we need now,the other pads are expensive.  She added that sometimes they cannot afford yet the girls go through their periods every month.
